In Memoriam — Our Founder, Michael C. Maher

We are deeply saddened to share the passing of our founder, Michael C. Maher. Mr. Maher built this firm on an unwavering commitment to advocacy, ethics, and service to families across Florida.

His legacy lives on in every client we serve and every case we try. Over more than five decades in practice, Mr. Maher helped shape the plaintiffs’ bar in Florida and nationally. He served as President of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA) (now the American Association for Justice) and previously led what is today the Florida Justice Association. His courtroom work and leadership inspired generations of trial lawyers to put people first.

Guided by his vision, our firm grew into a family-run practice known for taking on complex cases and standing up to powerful interests. Among many accomplishments, our trial team, building on the foundations he laid, was part of the effort that led to Florida’s landmark $11.3 billion settlement in the State of Florida’s case against Big Tobacco.
