Attorney Stephen Craig has been a fixture in the Central Florida legal community for almost three decades, but his journey to becoming an attorney did not necessarily take the traditional route.

In 1986, Steve enlisted in the United States Army as a Foreign Counterintelligence Special Agent, with assignments and postings throughout the U.S., Europe and the Caribbean, and eventually received a direct commission as an officer in the U.S. Army Reserves. His citations and awards include numerous joint-service and U. S. Army decorations, including the Joint-Service Commendation Medal. After his service, Steve relocated to Orlando and established a successful investigative and legal support practice.

Steve attended the University of Central Florida where he earned a Bachelor of Arts. He returned briefly to federal civil service as an intelligence officer after the attacks of 9/11, and was last posted as the Senior Intelligence Representative to the Orlando Federal Bureau of Investigation's Joint Terrorism Task Force. In 2004, Steve returned to practice in earnest as a legal investigator, and it was at this time that he first started working with The Maher Law Firm.

It was also at this time that Steve achieved a life-long goal: to attend law school. While working full-time, Steve earned his law degree from Barry University Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law. He is now admitted to practice in Florida and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.

Steve originally hails from the West Coast—born in California and raised in Oregon. Steve is a passionate UCF alumnus and a rabid college football fan. He is also an accomplished musician, having toured and performed throughout Florida and across the southeastern U.S. for much of the last decade. He is the proud father of two stellar sons, Matthew and Cody, and two wonderful grandchildren, Kara and James. Steve shares his life and home here in Orlando with his partner, Stacey. Over the last several years, Steve has dedicated hundreds of hours of service to our community, participating in Veteran’s services and Central Florida's Second Harvest Food Bank.
